Kristin & I shared a love for stand up comedy. Her favorite comedian was Brian Regan. He had a routine about never saying the right thing where he was saying goodbye to someone and was going to say "Take Care" and at the last minute thought of "Good Luck" and it came out as "Take Luck!" which is awkward so then he would add "...and and care...of the luck you might have..."

This became our standard greeting. Kristin would usually initiate but whoever was the first to speak would say "Take Luck!" and the other would respond "And care of the luck you might have!" She prompted Jaime & Aimee to greet me that way when they started choir in middle school. It always made me smile.

After Kristin graduated from high school we did not see each other often but would message on Facebook from time to time. I would be online & a message bubble would pop up with "Take Luck!" I would always respond "And care! Of the luck you might have!" then we would chat about what was going on at school or work, etc...

I am going to miss those messages.
